Holy Canine! It’s Raining Terriers!

The Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center in Riverside, CA, recently increased its canine population half again when it received a call for help from a woman who had so many dogs she didn’t know what to do.  33 dogs to be exact!  All small terrier mixes. White ones, black ones, brown ones, beige ones, mixed-color ones…  And all SO cute!

To help cover the cost of vaccinations, spaying and neutering, and general healthcare, the center has launched a fundraiser, “33 Days for 33 Dogs!” A donation of $1.00 a day for 33 days will help provide vaccinations, $3.00 a day will help with spay/neuter costs, and $5.00 a day will help with vaccinations, spay/neuter, and basic care.  Anyone wanting to help these little pooches can make donations online at www.petsadoption.org.

As a special treat, the first 33 donors giving at the $5.00-a-day level have the opportunity to name a dog!  All donors will receive e-mail notification when the dogs become available for adoption.

Until that time comes in May, volunteers are bathing, socializing and leash training the dogs.  The center’s behaviorist has evaluated them.  All are lovable, but timid in their new environment.  They’ve never seen so many people!
