Riverside Humane Society Pet Adoption Center’s 18th Annual Walk With The Animals Set for March 20 at Fairmount Park

Sponsorship Opportunities and Exhibit Booths Are Available

RIVERSIDE, CA, January 13, 2010 – Riverside Humane Society Pet Adoption Center (RHSPAC) will hold its 18th Annual Walk With The Animals on Saturday, March 20, from 8:00 a.m. to noon at Fairmount Park (band shell area) in Riverside. In addition to the two-mile pledge walk around Lake Evans, there will be food, entertainment, raffle prizes, exhibits, and many other activities for all ages.

The event is free and open to the public. Walk participants are encouraged to collect pledges to sponsor their effort. Participation in the pledge walk is not required to attend this popular event.

The 2009 Walk With The Animals drew a crowd of more than 1000 people and a few hundred dogs, as well as some other creatures. Attendance has increased annually, so RHSPAC anticipates an even larger event for 2010.

RHSPAC is accepting applications from businesses and organizations interested in being sponsors and exhibitors.

Sponsorship opportunities include both financial support and in-kind goods and services. Sponsors must commit by January 19 in order to have the company name included in the official Walk brochure and pledge form, but sponsorship applications will be accepted until February 19.

Exhibit space is free for nonprofit animal-welfare organizations and $50 for all other businesses and organizations. Booth space comprises one eight-foot table and two chairs. Exhibitors are welcome to bring booth graphics and displays. Canopies are advised for weather protection. No electricity will be available for exhibitors. Deadline for exhibitor applications is March 10.

For more information on being a sponsor or exhibitor and to obtain application forms, call Michele at RHSPAC, 951-688-4340, ext. 307. Application forms also are available online at www.petsadoption.com/news.php.

More details on the 18th Annual Walk With The Animals will be announced in the next few weeks.
